How Do People Who Have Honest Disagreements About Iraq Express Them?

| Recently Representative Murtha has been taken to task for his somewhat blunt response to Carl Rove's comments at a political dinner in New Hampshire.
Carl Rove accused democratic critics of the Iraq war like Murtha of "cutting and running" when things get tough.
Murtha responsed to these comments on Tim Russert's Meet the Press(July 11, 2006)..."He’s, he’s in New Hampshire. He’s making a political speech. He’s sitting in his air conditioned office with his big, fat backside, saying, '
Stay the course'... "you can’t sit there in the air conditioned office and tell these troops they’re carrying 70 pounds on their back inside these armored vessels and hit with IEDs every day, seeing their friends blown up, their buddies blown up, and he says stay the course Yeah, it’s easy to say that from Washington, D.C." (Transcript)
I liked it!!! I may have used stronger language, perhaps another word for "backside," but Murtha made his point. Way to Go Jack!!!
What Do We Want People Who Honestly Disagree To Say
I think what many are feeling is frustration about the war in Iraq. Anyone who says it is not a mess has possibly overdosed on Rush Limbaugh's viagra, only my opinion, of course.
There are prevailing voices and many have joined them who believe that the troubled effort in Iraq wiill ultimately succeed. I'm not one of them. Everywhere I look, it is dismal; and, to be perfectly honest, I don't know what we expect those like Murtha who don't agree with Iraq to say. KT
