LONG TIME COMING. The identification of lst Lt Larry Adams, an F 105 pilot shot down over Vietnam in 1966. Lieutenant Adams remains were finally identified.
It was a long time coming because a Buddhist farmer found some bone fragments and followed the peaceful tradition of his religion by honoring the dead hero as opposed to turning them over to the North Vietnamese government to use as propaganda.
The Farmer turned them over to American authorities.
In Lt. Adam's last letter home he wrote "I do wish our government would clarify the reasons for being here. This is very hard." His Memorial service was yesterday Wednesday, June 1, 2005 with full military honors at Beale Air Force Base. May he now rest in peace. God Bless Lt. Adams and his family.

They wrote the book(to the left) then came the documentary.
Enron:The Smartest Guys in the Room is a good documentary. If only Enron had been just a book or a movie thousands and thousands of people would not have lost their retirements and their livelihoods. Just as important maybe the American public who cares would not have lost more faith in America's businesses and our government's inability to police outfits like Enron. Unfortunately, Enron was for real.
Enron:The Smartest Guys in the Room, was quite interesting on many levels. I had read a long excerpt in the NY Times and much of it was the same but seeing the actual footage and the characters--sobering! But, I am amazed that they could operate on smoke and mirrors for so long (sounds like the government). There never really was any making of money. It all had to do with manipulating stock prices. They did fleece California in the great energy crisis and to add insult to injury, bragged about it.
Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room, makes you realize just how much greed there is and especially with young stock traders whose only interest is money and what they might make. What happened to SEX! They weren't born with this "show me the money" attitude; they learned from companies like Enron.
Jeffrey Skilling was the mastermind it seems and Ken Lay was a good ole' boy who simply used his friendships to manipulate. Denial was rampant on all levels. There were pictures of Ken Lay with George W., George W. lauding what a great company they were and setting up a meeting with Dick Cheney.Ken Lay's greatest friendship was with George the elder. And,then there was the Enron plaque given to Alan Greenspan as the "Man of the Year." Wonder if the good Chairman of the Fed has that plaque prominently displayed on his "I love me" wall.
The saga continues: Ken Lay is awaiting trial, still insisting he did nothing; Jeff Skilling, who paid his lawyers 32 million, is awaiting trial and Andy Fastow who has already paid the piper got ten years and has agreed to testify against the others. And, then there is the guy who got out before it all came to pass with 250 million, dumped his wife for a stripper and is in Hawaii; he also has become the biggest landowner in the state of Colorado. Who says that "crime doesn't pay." Got to love it. We live in a great country. God bless America. JHL
