THE INSANENESS OF AMERICAN POLITICS
Kelly Thomas gives his observations of the "going-ons" at the Democratic National Convention. He wonders why average folks/or party faithful get so riled up over politics and says what many believe- politics is for the rich and powerful who will do almost anything to get elected/or re-elected.

TUESDAY - LET ME SEE IF I UNDERSTAND:
The NAACP is ticked at the president because he declined to be insulted; i.e,he declined an invitation to speack at their annual meeting. Regardless of popular blather, George W. is not a dummy. He might get elected President without being a Mensa member, but he could never be a pilot in the National Guard and be dumb.
The NAACP president called Secretary of State Colin Powell and National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice, who just happens to be the first African Americans to ever hold such power in the government, dummies of the ventriloquist. And, to make matters even nastier, NAACP chairman Julian Bond said that Republicans' idea of diversity is to "join the American flag to the racist Confederate Flag." Now, them is "fighin" words. This goes beyond the pale: it is vile and uncalled for. And, the NAACP wonders why he won't speak to their convention. The only thing dumber would to call into Dr. Phil or Dr. Laura's talk show to be insulted. -A. Cooper
