I cannot write a coherent response to terrorism. There have always been psycho fringes, but now they are well armed and willing to destroy themselves for their cause - whatever it is. I have yet to hear a coherent explanation about the behavior of the individual bombers, much less the lot of them.
How, in the name of any permutation of "God" can one slaughter the innocent? War is an evil in and of itself we cannot defend in the rational world; but, we don't live in one, so we have to be prepared to go to war from time to time. But terrorism? It is in another dimension which I am not psychologically nor intellectually able to comprehend if any moral code is to be acknowledged.

Here are a couple of issues on those who kill innocent people. First of all, we need Jack Bauer(main character in the TV show 24; see related article below); but, since he is in hiding, we have to deal with it ourselves. Somehow or another we need to be able to honestly use some sort of tool to get to fanatics. How can we do it? One way is for them to understand that it is going to impact their families. I cannot believe I am the only one who has thought of this. But, it is hard for me to believe that the families don't have some idea of what their children are doing. The terrorist/children are planning, away from home lots, talking on their cell phones. Consequently, they are assessories to the crime.
I feel badly for them but it is just fact. Obviously, we are not going to take the Jack Bauer method. There was a Jack Bauer/24 episode where he had the terrorist and the terrorist knew where the bomb was and would not give up the info. Jack told him he was going to take out his family. Well, in TV, we can't let that happen and so he rigged a situation where the terrorist thought his family was being harmed. Guess what? The terrorist gave up the information.
How about the London bombings, for instance? Deport the families if we find out they knew anything. It is bad, we hate it, but life is such. Terrorism has changed our lives forever.

Below are some related articles on the War on Terrorism. Many of our writers(those who write exclusively for the webzine) have changed their opinions since 9/11 because circumstances have changed. But many aspects of the war on terrorism have remained the same which brings to mind the old adage "the more things change the more they remain the same."
