Two children wearing their new show share some food at 'Los Piletones' soup kitchen in Buenos Aires, Oct. 16, 2006, after receiving their shoes in the first 'Shoe Drop 2006'. Blake Mycoskie flew down to Argentina last week with a team of 20 helpers to give away the first 10,000 pairs of Toms Shoes Alpargatas in soup kitchens, schools, and to homeless Guarani Indians in the Northern Argentine jungle. Since starting in March, Toms Shoes has already sold 10,000 alpargatas, the classic shoe of Argentine cowboys and ranchers, with a humanitarian hook: for every $38 pair sold, the company donates a pair to Argentina's poor. Just Do It. Matt. 28:16-20 Things are different when we think in terms of mission. We are no longer the center of the world. It matters essentially who the other person is.

It’s about that one person or that family or that neighborhood receiving what they need. Think about it. In a very real sense, Jesus calls us to just do it.

"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations," he orders in Matthew 28, "baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you" (verses: 19-20). You’ve got to have intestinal fortitude to accept this mission, to leave the comfort and go out to do mission where people really need to hear the gospel.

Jesus did not command the whole world to go to church. Jesus commanded his church to go to the whole world."—Evangelist Greg Laurie

Men sleep after drinking on a bench in downtown Moscow, in this Sept. 2005 file photo. In a country renowned for hard drinking, most people aren't surprised to hear that 42,000 people die from counterfeit alcohol in Russia each year. But recent poisonings have grabbed unusual attention in a nation where many are numb to the problem of alcoholism. The cases have dominated news reports and Cabinet meetings, fueling debate about a malaise that has helped lower Russia's average life expectancy rate to 66, 14 years shorter than the European Union average. TOUGH LOVE!! A couple had had a son with a long standing drinking problem that was getting worse.

Through his drinking struggles—embarrassment, job losses, even jail, the parents supported him; they prayed, counseled and encouraged him, and bailed him out numerous times.

But when he began to physically abuse his wife and children, they made a painful decision: no more financial support until their son got help. They loved the son and wanted the best for him as a person even more than they loved their relationship with him. Therefore, they were willing to confront him and even risk losing him. TOUGH LOVE!!

Through my soul may set in darkness, it will rise in perfect light, I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night. Sarah Williams

What about less radical things in my life that I can change, like career or life-style? Well, first, I reject all anxiety that I might be going the wrong way.

I quietly examine the choices I have made of home, job, city, friends, activities, everything. Then, unless the Spirit of God leads me to question them, I offer them to God and leave them in place. discerning the will of God,

Memories may escape the action of the will, may sleep a long time, but when stirred by the right influence, though that influence be light as a shadow, they flash into full stature and life with everything in place." - John Muir

The Atlantic Ocean is seen in a May 22, 2005 file photo. A U.S. man who found 300 letters to God floating in the Atlantic Ocean said on Friday he will donate them to a church instead of selling them on eBay following protests from religious people. (Mike Segar/Reuters)

STRONG IN FAITH 1 Corinthians 1:26-31 The kind of meekness to which Christ is calling us has nothing to do with becoming spineless wimps. It has to do with hearing a dominant voice in our life.

If the only voice we hear is our own, we become like that frightened dog wandering confused on the baseball diamond and finally coming to rest on third base and refusing to budge.

It is only when we hear the voice of God that we gain a sense of purpose for our lives and we draw on strength that is not our own. PEOPLE OF FAITH ARE STRONG!

An exasperated mother, whose son was always getting into mischief, finally asked him, "How do you expect to get into Heaven?"

The boy thought it over and said, "Well, I'll run in and out and in and out and keep slamming the door until St. Peter says, 'For Heaven's sake, Dylan, come in or stay out!

"Dear God:

We read that Thomas Edison made light. But in Sunday School they said You did it. So I bet he stole your idea."

Have a Great Week!!

Remember,
Keep everything in Perspective.
