OF MY FATHER’S CHILDREN, I LOVE MYSELF THE BEST. IF GOD PROVIDES FOR ME, THE DEVIL TAKE THE REST!!!!!

What is it with the Republicans blocking unemployment benefits extension? It is simply cruel.

Based on various comments and polls, the average American thinks this is fine and Republicans are not suffering.

Come on!!! To me, it is worrisome that we would let politics be above our citizens that need help. No way, I refuse to believe that those of us who don’t have big jobs and fat bank accounts think this is fine.

I heard one “talking head”, say that providing unemployment benefits, a safety net, made people lazy and complacent. A--hole. Bet this guy is not out of work. But I heard another commentator who seemed to know what she was talking about (could be because I agreed with her). say that providing benefits actually put money back into the economy. Of course, a counterpoint is that providing an extension to benefits adds to the deficit.

Do any of us think the Republicans in Congress are giving up a paycheck? And do you really think their mantra that extension of unemployment benefits is adding to the deficit is going to make a difference. Who the flying f--- knows!!!

Jack Kemp(now deceased), a Republican, argued for years that the deficit may not matter and no one I know can really explain the deficit.

Opinions are like mailboxes, everybody has one. It is as murky as the San Francisco fog. Just a few years ago, i. e., Bill Clinton, we suddenly, without warning, had a surplus and then everyone became all shook up on how to spend it. Well, it didn’t last long with two wars.

We should be giving Congress hell for not passing an extension to unemployment benefits. We are a prosperous nation and how we look after our citizens whose lives have taken a mostly downward economic turn is a direct reflection on all of us. Amen.
