I'm beginning to develop my views on what happened to McChrystal. I've read an excerpt of the article in Rolling Stone and although some think it is a great magazine, I am skeptical.
It is obvious that the reporter had an angle and I wonder again, "Why would a smart guy like McChrystal give the time of day to a Rolling Stone reporter unless he knew exactly what he was doing."
McChrystal hates these hypocritical, "no nothing supposedly allies," along with Ambassador Eikenberry and Special Envoy Holbrooke who sit around postulating on a grand strategy. (These same MFers sat around the Continental Hotel in Saigon sucking their thumbs and scratching their asses while young Americans were dying a few miles away).
McChrystal sized it up. He knew that Afghanistan is a "fast train to nowhere," and understood that it was only a matter of time until they got his ass anyway, based on the numbers of people he's already pissed off-mainly a bunch of Congressional and White House draft dodgers.
So why not facilitate the process and get out early and have some time left with family, etc. and get ready for his next career? In other words, McChrystal SET UP HIS FIRING !!!
