dirty filthy love dvd jacket

Dirty Filthy Love is a fascinating story built around an architect who has Tourette's Syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder. Apparently, he is either disguising the symptoms or they come on him. His wife decides that she can no longer live with him. The fact that there may be someone else in the picture is a little beside the point, I guess.

Dirty Filthy Love has a cast of characters who are quirky as all get out. Good, good character studies. See this movie.

Waitress
First Review:

My husband and I did see Waitress the other day and were disappointed in it, probably because we thought it would be light and funny

There were some darling moments in it, but we both are highly sensitive to family abuse and violence and I have a lot of triggers about infidelity - which was rampant in that film, as it is in real life, apparently - so that the film wasn't, for us, "light and funny" - but rather quite heartbreaking on a couple of levels.

A happy ending didn't seem to overcome the sadness we witnessed during the film, and I, too, love the darling little actress(Kerri Russell) who played the lead, although I never saw her TV series(Felicity) -- she was fabulous, but I guess there were just too many downers in the movie for us to really enjoy it. I think we went in expecting something totally different than we got - and I think we go to the movies to escape real life, not to see some ugly slices of it on the screen. We must be confirmed escapists!

Second Review:

I recently saw Waitress. Several things in the movie got to me.

First of all, Waitress is a wonderful example of the difference a baby makes.

Jenna (Kerri Russell) is a mother-to-be and the last thing she wants is a baby; and, yet, the baby catapults her, with great courage, to get rid of her sorry, controlling husband.

Even with the promiscuity, the movie doesn't take on the morality of usual indiscretions. In a sense, the movie is about a couple of people (two waitresses) surviving.

In one great scene, Jenna is about ten month pregnant. Dr Pomatter(Nathan Fillion), her married obstetrician and crush, comes to see her. Jenna says "What are you doing here?" Dr Pomatter says, "I want you to teach me how to make a pie." Then a voice over(Jenna) says this great line: "I am addicted to someone listening to me."

Waitress is a good movie. The only part I would possibly change is the ending.

Keri Russell will always be "Felicity" to me. Her facial expressions, her capacity to be "out there", is unsurpassed. Don't miss this movie. KT
